The poet Laurin Wolf of Kent State University in Ohio has asked me a series of questions about my life and poetry that has just been posted with my (windy) responses. The insight and depth of her questions took me by surprise, always a good sign in an interview. Her questions and my answers come as I am preparing to spend next week at Kent State as a guest of the Wick Poetry Center, conducting a workshop for undergraduate and graduate students, talking to jouralism students, and meeting the people who have published Far From Algiers, my book of poems which won the 2007 Wick Prize.—DM
